A specialised logistics company specialising in global imports and exports now seeks an experienced Air Freight Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all aspects of Air import and export operations.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in logistics, customs regulations, and international trade, along with excellent organisational skills.
Please note this role requires references to be provided for the last 5 years as a full background check is required.
Gaps exceeding 28 days are not permitted and must be evidenced.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and support the end-to-end import and export process, including documentation, customs clearance, transportation, and delivery.Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, including customs laws, trade agreements, and sanctions.Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.Stay up to date on changes in customs regulations and trade policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Prepare and submit, if applicable, customs documentation, including import/export declarations, permits, licenses, and certificates of origin or oversee and manage relationships with outsourced customs clearance agents.Lead the Import and Export operation, working in partnership with the General Manager, Transport Manager, and driver/dispatch crew members.Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding import and export shipments.Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export operations with air freight forwarding knowledge.Strong knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, and logistics principles.Professional and positive attitude.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Excellent customer service skills.Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
