We are currently recruiting for an Alternatives and Reconciliations Oversight Consultant position for our client, a global financial services company based in Limerick.
In this position, you will be joining a dynamic and deadline-driven team in the Alternatives space, working with Hedge Fund Services, Private Equity, and Real Estate operations. This role focuses on Control & Oversight in Fund Accounting, specifically middle-office functions like reconciliations and training oversight. Some on-the-job training will be provided.
This is a 12-month contract role with some possibility of extension or permanency. The position offers a hybrid working model.
What you will be doing: Implement and maintain the Control framework within the department, ensuring audit readiness and thorough documentation. Provide oversight to the Hedge Fund Services, Private Equity, and Real Estate Operations Teams as part of a small, high-impact operations group. Prepare and facilitate weekly reviews for aged breaks and incidents, escalating items as necessary, and supporting monthly reconciliation oversight. Support SharePoint resources within the team, including assisting in the upcoming migration. Act as a liaison between offshore reconciliation teams and operations teams in Ireland to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. Assist in the coordination of onboarding and training across the team, setting up meetings, scheduling sessions, and handling administrative tasks related to the induction program. Participate in weekly error meetings to assess ongoing reporting, identify training needs, and drive closure on outstanding issues. Assist with governance-related tasks as well as supporting the team's move from Excel to Power BI for enhanced data analysis and reporting. What we are looking for: Third-level qualification or pursuing a professional accounting qualification is advantageous. Previous experience in Fund Administration is preferred. Familiarity with Private Equity and Real Estate fund structures is beneficial but not required. Reconciliation system experience is beneficial. Strong communication and client-servicing skills. Strong attention to detail. A governance mindset. Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task. Systems proficiency in MS Office, with Excel experience being essential. Power BI and Power Automate strongly preferred. SharePoint experience highly advantageous.
