Animal Care Assistant (Mallow)

Place of Employment: ISPCA Equine Rescue Centre, Dromsligo, Mallow, Co. Cork
Reports to: ISPCA Manager of ERC Mallow
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm based on a 7-day rota.
Time flexibility and travel required occasionally.
Salary: €13 p/h

We are recruiting an Animal Care Assistant at our ISPCA Mallow Centre. Excellent animal handling experience with equines and canines required.
Felines, small mammals and wildlife experience an advantage.Experience caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured and traumatised animals an advantage.Animal behaviour, evaluation and assessment skills desirable.Good basic level of education.Keen interest in animal welfare.Must be proactive, flexible and willing to work on a seven-day rostered system.Good communicator with organisational skills.Ability to work efficiently under pressure, as part of a team and on own initiative.Full clean driving licence required to drive a manual vehicle required, ability to drive a tractor and/or to tow a horsebox will be an advantage.Ability to commute/relocate: Mallow, Co. Cork P51 YF98: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience: Animal handling: 3 years (required)equine care and handling: 1 year (required)
