Animal Care Assistant (Mallow)

Place of Employment: ISPCA Equine Rescue Centre, Dromsligo, Mallow, Co. Cork
Reports to: ISPCA Manager of ERC Mallow
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm based on a 7-day rota. Time flexibility and travel required occasionally.
Salary: €13 p/h

We are recruiting an Animal Care Assistant at our ISPCA Mallow Centre.
Essential skills: Experience caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured and traumatised animals.Excellent animal handling experience with canines and equines required. Felines, small mammals and wildlife experience an advantage.Animal behaviour, evaluation and assessment skills desirable.Good basic level of education, ideally a third level qualification or equivalent in a related discipline.Keen interest in animal welfare and experience working within the sector.Must be proactive, flexible and willing to work on a seven-day rostered system.Excellent interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills necessary.Ability to work efficiently under pressure, as part of a team and on own initiative.Full clean driving licence required to drive a manual vehicle, plus a licence to tow a horsebox preferable.
