per Eden Farmed Animal Sanctuary currently cares for over 230 rescued animals including sheep, goats, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and other rescued and free-living animals.
The role of the sanctuary caregiver is to look after the health, wellbeing and daily needs of the animals.
Ideal applicants will have previous relevant experience of caring for farmed animals, preferably in a rescue/sanctuary capacity and will regard working on a vegan sanctuary as a passion, rather than a job.
You need to be fit enough to walk the fields several times a day checking on the animals, and capable of carrying out the necessary tasks to ensure they have food and water and clean out houses and barns daily.
Work also involves assisting with health care and veterinary visits.
Applicants need their own transport and must be flexible enough to fit their working hours around the animals needs.
We prefer that applicants live within a 30-minute commute from the sanctuary.
From time to time, non-vegans visit the sanctuary during maintenance and sanctuary deliveries.
It is preferable that sanctuary staff can speak to non-vegans knowledgeably about our anti-speciesist stance and the moral imperative of veganism.
