Overall Purpose of the Job Responsible for dealing with hazardous and non-hazardous waste management on site.
To ensure high waste management standards are performed on-site as directed by the supervisor.
Main duties and responsibilities General services operatives are responsible for dealing with on-site hazardous and non-hazardous waste management.
To service hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection points throughout the client site Empty Non-hazardous bins Empty Hazardous waste bins Filling and use of the general waste compactor Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams Filling, packing and labelling of hazardous waste streams into preapproved containers and receptacles Loading of curtain siders and containers by use of Forklift Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off-site Complete all relevant paperwork regarding non-hazardous waste.
Other paperwork and admin duties Decanting of dangerous waste streams on site Liaise with waste management vendors Ad hoc duties as required.
Salting of the car park over the winter months.
Qualifications & Experience Experience in Environmental or Waste management is desirable but not essential.
Ability to demonstrate awareness of good health and safety practices in cleaning procedures.

The successful candidate must also hold Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation Ability to work on his/her own Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work Flexible, Honest and reliable Excellent Work Record Previous experience in similar roles advantageous Flexible approach to working as part of a team.
Forklift training is a distinct advantage.
Working Pattern Monday to Friday, 5 pm to 9 pm.
