To start in Jan 2025 Location: Dublin 12 - Office based Our client is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a contract basis to provide maternity cover for an existing position.

AccountabilitiesMonth End Accounts to Trial BalanceVAT ReturnsVIES and INTRASTATCashflow forecastingCustoms and ROSTANInvoice Discounting ReconciliationsCustomer and Supplier Pricing updatesMonthly GP Pricing analysisOverhead AnalysisOther Bank ReconciliationsReconcile Stock Differences Gains/LossesReview and process any outstanding stock returns for A/R and A/PKnowledge of SAP B1, SAP HANAResponsibilities (including but not limited to)Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements & reportsMonitor budget performance & report on variancesManage relationship, reconciliations and audits with Invoice Discounting bankAssist in the preparation and submission of VAT, VIES and INTRASTAT returnsManage relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders (Customers and Suppliers) to resolve queriesAttend and contribute to weekly EOS L10 meetings.
Complete weekly scorecard, complete "To Dos" and "Rocks"Act as the Independent Auditor for ISO and carry out and report to management on internal audits undertaken and audit recommendations and improvementsEnsure all processes are followed as per Core Processes and ISOOversee the Complaints Log ensuring all issues are dealt with appropriately and closed outCustomer Returns: Ensure Returns are processed as per procedure and Returns LogAssist the Finance Director in investigating system issues and testing and implementing any changes and improvements identifiedCover for other Finance department staff on annual leave or sicknessProvide support and training to colleagues as requiredOther ad hoc duties as designated by senior managementThe PersonThe Candidate:
Accounting Technician or Part qualified accountantMinimum 3 years' experience working in a high-volume accounts departmentExcellent computer-literacy skills, particularly ExcelExperience of working with ERP systems especially SAP an advantageAbility to work independently within the Finance Team and use own initiativeExcellent Analytical Skills and attention to detail
