Assistant Accountant

The Brehon Hotel & Spa, Killarney are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team under a 1 year contract role with the potential to extend to permanent.
Main Purpose of Job: The Assistant Accountant will undertake the day to day accounting and bookkeeping requirements for the group.
Reports to: The Chief Financial Officer What you'll need to succeed You will ideally be an organised and enthusiastic individual with 2-4 years' experience in end to end bookkeeping and an accounts environment.
For this role excellent communication skills and attention to detail would be necessary.
Previous experience with problem solving such as drawing conclusions and developing recommendations along with strong Microsoft Excel skills would be advantageous.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Undertake the day to day bookkeeping and accounting requirements Entering Supplier Invoices & Reconciling Supplier Statements Assisting in Preparation of Payroll Revenue Reconciliation Across Multiple Systems Bank Reconciliations P&L and Balance Sheet Reconciliations Assisting in preparation of VAT and Compliance Assisting the Finance Supervisor and Financial Accountant Where required   Minimum Requirements: Fluent in English Accounting Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Excel Previous Hotel, Hospitality experience desirable Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical and numerical abilities are crucial Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Positive attitude, courteous demeanour and the ability to remain calm whilst under pressure *Candidates must have legal status to live and work in the Republic of Ireland   What you'll get in return This is an exciting opportunity for an immediately available Accountant looking to join a leading organisation based in Killarney.
