The successful candidate will provide counsel and legal advisory service to AMD in HR and labour related matters for our EMEA region, and will be based at our location in Dublin, Ireland. You will be a member of the AMD Global Employment Law team reporting into a manager based in the U.S., and will work closely with other corporate team members, including HR, Ethics and Compliance, Health & Safety, business unit leaders and other groups, to support AMD's employment law needs in EMEA. THE PERSON: To be successful in this position, you should: Have a minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience as a practicing solicitor or barrister with in-house or industry-specific legal experience strongly preferred.Have a progressive work history with in-house and/or private practice experience: (i) providing legal counsel to clients for employment law matters in EMEA, (ii) either in a multinational company (MNC) environment or supporting multinational clients.Be proficient in partnering with clients to provide practical solutions while mitigating risk. In-House MNC experience is an advantage, as is experience in advising on international employment law matters.Be comfortable working remotely with clients, colleagues, and business partners in the US and EMEA regions.Be an initiative-taker who can work independently and collaborate as part of a team.Be efficient, effective, well organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.Be creative, practical, collaborative, and solution oriented.Key competencies include a mindset of continuous improvement, multitasking abilities, and ability to smoothly navigate a matrixed organization.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will have responsibility for directly providing counsel to AMD in the following areas, for the EMEA region: Employment law guidance for the full employment lifecycle: Hiring, Employment, and End of Employment.Guidance on internal investigations in HR-related matters for EMEA countries.Statutory and other HR-compliance guidance in EMEA.M&A support in employment law areas as assigned, prior experience in this area is a plus.Training clients and business groups as needed on employment law topics of importance.You will also: Work closely with other AMD lawyers and paralegals.Collaborate with and manage outside counsel and resources effectively for specific engagements in accordance with budget.ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Admitted to practice law in Ireland or the UK as a solicitor or barrister.
