Job Overview:
The Assistant Purchaser will support the Purchasing Manager in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for various construction projects. This role involves managing supplier relationships, tracking inventory, and ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong interest in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects.Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing.Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.Liaise with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery schedules, and resolve any issues.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with site managers to ensure timely stock replenishment.Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.Support in preparing purchasing reports and cost analyses as required.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a bonus but not a must.Preferably has a trades background or experience with boots on the ground on site.1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the construction industry.Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers.Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with purchasing or inventory management software is a plus.Basic knowledge of construction materials and industry standards (preferred).Why Join Us?
