Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join the team for a site-based role in the Northwest Region/Galway. The successful candidate will support the Resident Engineer in overseeing bridge maintenance and rehabilitation works, ensuring the project runs smoothly, safely, and on time. You will be involved in site supervision, administration, monitoring, and inspection activities for a range of roads and civils infrastructure projects.
Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 3+ years' experience in civil engineering, with a focus on structures or infrastructureExperience in structure inspections is a plusKnowledge of Public Works contracts and contract administration is an advantageFamiliarity with monitoring and inspecting roadworks, drainage, pavements, signage, and bridgeworksStrong written and verbal communication skillsFull driving licenceProficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeResponsibilities: Support Resident Engineering staff with day-to-day site activitiesSupervise and inspect construction works, ensuring quality, safety, and complianceAssist with contract administration, including keeping accurate records and reportsMonitor and report on construction progress, identifying any issues and proposing solutionsEnsure all work complies with current health and safety regulations and best practicesWork collaboratively within a team, and independently when required, to achieve project goalsMaintain effective communication with project stakeholders and team members.Personal Qualities: Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and approachable attitudeMotivated, adaptable, and able to prioritise tasks effectivelyAble to work both independently and as part of a team.Benefits: Flexible working arrangements25 days A/LPension ContributionEAPProfessional Membership SupportAnd more!
