SPAR Ennis, Lifford Rd Co. Clare, is looking for a Full Time Assistant Store Manager to join their busy store.
The successful candidate must be able to work full time Monday to Friday.
6.30-2.30 hours, Minimum 3 years experience in retail is requiredSUPERVISORYSupervise the activities of retail sales team on a daily basis and ensure necessary tasks are completed to an appropriate levelEnsure high quality and consistent customer service is provided at all timesTo delegate and communicate effectively with the retail sales teamTo supervise the effective induction and training of all employeesTo communicate sales performance to the teamAssist the store manager in the recruitment of high calibre retail sales assistantsAssist the store manager in the effective management of Retail Sales Team performanceOPERATIONSEnsure store is merchandised in a customer friendly and competitive manner ensuring compliance with company procedures and guidelinesEnsure housekeeping in the store is maintained at an optimum levelCo-ordinate in-store sales and promotionsTo communicate with retail sales team regarding in store sales and promotionsTo ensure the appropriate cash register and cash handling policy is adhered toTo ensure shelf edged labels are updated on a weekly basisTo react to local market trends and competition in an appropriate mannerTo ensure customers receive high quality and consistent service at all timesTo deal with and rectify customer complaints in an effective and pleasant mannerTo pro-actively take necessary action in store improvements following customer complaintsSTOCK MANAGEMENTTo assist the manager in preparations for stock take and supervise where appropriateTo assist the manager in minimising stock loss through wastage, damages and pilferageEnsure food management and waste systems are adhered to by retail sales teamCheck stock to ensure adequate stock is available for customer's needsEnsure stock is rotated appropriately to ensure in date stock is available and to minimise waste through out of date stockLEGISLATION & SECURITYTo ensure secure opening and closing procedures with the store managerTo assist the manager as appropriate in matters relating to managing staff ensuring compliance with labour law, HACCP, Health & Safety and Consumer LegislationTo ensure potential hazards in the store are identified and reduced or where possible removed/eliminatedWork with Store Manager to ensure Health & Safety checks are conducted and actioned accordinglyGENERALTo know and understand company policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented effectively by retail sales teamTo achieve targets as agreed with store managerEscalate issues to store manager as appropriateTo communicate with the store manager on an on-going basisThe deputise as store manager when the store manager is not availableTo undertake other additional duties as may be assigned by the store managerThe ideal candidate will possess many of the below attributes:Previous supervisory experienceOperational knowledge of retail environmentExcellent interpersonal relationsAn understanding of consumer needsUnderstanding of labour law, health & safety regulations, HACCP, and consumer lawCommercial acumen with the ability to anticipate and react to market changesCommitted to continually improving standardsSelf-motivated & ambitiousComputer skillsMust be proficient in back office, epos, till management and category management,
