Assoc Quality Engineer | Non Med Dev

Our client, a global manufacturer of safety equipment, based in Galway, is looking to hire an Assoc Quality Engineer for their site. This is a 4 day per week onsite role, working in a team of 5. The Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager but will have some corporate exposure on global quality projects being developed at the Galway site.
Responsibilities: Monitor compliance to workmanship practices and procedures, providing coaching and training as required.Conduct defect awareness training with Associates.Implement reduced final inspections in manufacturing cells without increased Customer Complaints (OOB).Identify and champion the introduction of technology maintaining minimum OOB.Monitor in-process scrap, report regularly, and work with Engineering to reduce.Manage MRB and make decisions related to the disposition of non-conforming products.Conduct/lead PFMEA and 5 Why root cause analysis.Use knowledge of Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis, and Lean principles to investigate and solve problems and improve quality.Drive an effective internal audit system and schedule. Coordinate agency audits and ensure internal practices deliver high levels of compliance to product approval agency requirements and customer requirements.Maintain KPIs.Lead investigation and corrective action of Internal and External complaints/product concerns (IQOS).Maintain and ensure that the Quality Manual and Quality Policies of GMIL are cascaded through operations and agree on QMS best practices with MSA.Perform 1st article inspections on raw materials/components according to written procedures, specifications/drawings, and processes.Participate directly in new product/technology transfer.Continually seek to drive improvements in product and process quality.Requirements: Minimum +3 years' experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.A Degree or equivalent.Demonstrated use of decision-making based on judgment and data.SAP experience.Decision-making ability coupled with the ability to work on one's own initiative and with minimum supervision.Good interpersonal and organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail.Use of problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and PFMEA.For more information and a confidential discussion on the role, please contact Michelle Mc Inerney. ****** 091 706717
