Associate Director – Bridge Design

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Associate Director to lead a Bridge Design Team in Dublin or Cork office. This role offers a unique opportunity for career growth, with the potential to advance to a Technical Director position. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a strong portfolio of projects and developing future opportunities. Senior Bridge Engineers with relevant experience and leadership potential are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements: Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Bridge/Senior Bridge Engineer, with at least 10 years of experience on Irish projects.Chartered Bridge Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).Extensive knowledge and experience in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation.Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil or LUSAS.Experience in the design and refurbishment of concrete, steel, and masonry structures.Proven experience working within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing roles.Previous staff management experience.Ireland and/or UK experience.Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Lead and manage a team of bridge engineering professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.Business Development: Drive business growth by leading tender bids and securing professional services contracts.Resource Planning: Plan and manage resources effectively to meet short, medium, and long-term project goals.Design Oversight: Provide expert design input and oversee the structural aspects of bridge projects.Project Management: Manage medium to large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.PSDP Duties: Assist in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) to ensure safety and compliance.This role is ideal for a motivated and experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career within a thriving and supportive environment.
