Purpose: The purpose of the Associate Director, Patient Engagement CoDesign role is to deliver the global patient and HCP voice to inform the design and execution of clinical research; delivering insights to inform asset profile, program/trial strategy, and drive excellence in clinical trial designs, thereby increasing trial accessibility, reducing patient and site burden, and improving the clinical trial experience.
Primary Responsibilities: Develop and implement the strategy for clinical programs to deliver the voice of the patient and HCPs.Partner with cross-functional asset team members to determine the best approach to incorporate patient and HCP insights for each clinical program.Lead the CoDesign efforts to deliver insights, including facilitation of focus group sessions or interviews with patients and/or HCPs, creation of meaningful deliverables, and diligent follow-up to ensure insights are robustly considered and incorporated (where appropriate) into clinical program design.Enable continuous evolution of capabilities by understanding the external needs and challenges of patients and researchers in addition to the internal needs and challenges of our clinical programs.Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate and understand evolving business needs, and explore opportunities for process improvements, standardization, or automation.Contribute and maintain sharing of metrics for CoDesign activities.Lead the development and adoption of novel approaches to gather insights on the patient and HCP experience.Strategic and Technical Leadership: Supervise direct reports and facilitate performance management, personnel and career development through frequent interactions, coaching, transparent feedback, and escalation of issues to Patient Engagement leadership as appropriate.Ensure all relevant global and local policies and procedures are adhered to for all CoDesign related activities.Provide oversight of vendors and partners delivering outputs that embody the patient and HCP experience.Create and support an inclusive team culture that is valued for strategic and technical leadership and promotes partnership and shared learning across the broader clinical development organization.Minimum Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or health-related field.Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, and/or related fields.Other Information/Additional Preferences: Post-graduate degree(s), e.g., Pharm D, M.S.Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical drug/device development process.Proven ability to lead, influence, and deliver to timelines.Strong interpersonal and excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills.Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking skills and learning agility.Travel requirements: 10 - 20%.Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
