Role Description: As an Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of the Automation and Information Systems (IS) team, responsible for providing both day-to-day support and project-driven initiatives within our automated production and packaging facility.
Your primary focus will be on troubleshooting, maintaining, and continuously improving the production processes, equipment, and site utilities.
You will play a crucial role in understanding and optimizing automation systems, with a particular emphasis on Allen Bradley PLC systems.
What you'll do: Lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving issues related to automation systems, including PLCs, motion systems, vision systems, and network communications.
Oversee the maintenance of production and packaging equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Act as the primary contact for all automation-related issues, including line down situations, providing timely and effective solutions.
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of all control systems in use on site, including Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, high-speed vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence), electrical and safety systems, and associated networks.
Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery support programs and system obsolescence strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor equipment performance and apply proven troubleshooting techniques to address root causes of issues.
Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site, enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and process efficiency.
Ensure that all new equipment and tasks undergo comprehensive risk assessments.
Support investigations into incidents and near misses, proactively addressing safety risks and driving corrective actions.
Participate in site validation activities, including automation change control and the drafting of IOPQ documents and test scripts.
Manage software revisions for control systems to ensure full compliance with business quality systems and regulatory requirements.
The Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
??????? ???????5+ years Hands-on experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, preferably in oral solid dose production or high-speed packaging, is desirable.
Familiarity with the pharmaceutical or food industries is a plus but not required.
Experience with programming and automation systems is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of automation systems, including PLCs, vision systems, and motion control.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
