Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team and support a leading pharmaceutical client in the design, installation, and optimization of a filling line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, system integration, and automation technologies, with experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries. This role will focus on ensuring the filling line meets strict operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for a pharmaceutical filling line, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and compliance. Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) to control filling line equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, quality assurance, and validation specialists, to ensure the automation system meets user requirements and GMP standards. Conduct system integration of PLCs with other automation components, such as SCADA, HMIs, and robotics, to ensure seamless operations. Perform risk assessments, validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), and ensure compliance with industry regulations (GMP, FDA, GAMP5). Lead and support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting during the installation and operational phases of the project. Provide technical support and maintenance to optimize filling line performance and ensure minimal downtime. Prepare and maintain documentation including functional specifications, software design, and standard operating procedures. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve automation strategies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong focus on PLC programming and filling line automation. Extensive experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or equivalent. Hands-on experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharmaceutical/biotech preferred). Strong understanding of SCADA systems, HMIs, control panels, and system integration. Knowledge of validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ), GAMP5, and FDA regulations. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues in a production environment. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) or data integration systems. Familiarity with robotic systems in pharmaceutical automation.
