We are recruiting for an experienced litigation solicitor to join our AXA Legal Services team, to provide expert legal advice and representation in litigation matters.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the role involves acting as a solicitor on behalf of AXA or AXA's policyholders in litigated claims.
Additionally, the position requires providing the Company with comprehensive and strategic legal advice to effectively navigate legal matters and ensure the best possible outcomes.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025.
Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients, in court or attending industry events.
What you'll be doing: Deliver independent advice to and take instructions from the Company in the management of Motor/ EL/PL litigated files in all forums to include arbitration, mediation, and tribunals with an emphasis on claims of significant monetary value.
Responsible to run, without supervision, Circuit, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court actions.
To be able to settle claims based on agreed targets & efficiently manage a caseload of files and to give strategic advice.
Brief Senior and Junior Counsel, convey instructions to them effectively and to coordinate pre-trial defence conferences.
Effectively manage expert witnesses and to be able to identify necessary specialities.
Keep up to date on all relevant new developments in legislation and case law and so advise the Operations Manager and the Company.
Contribute to newsletters and give seminars on topical developments on matters affecting claims.
Provide advice & support to all AXA's policyholders, concerning claims against their policies.
Devising and providing training to the AXA Claims department on matters relevant to the processing of AXA claims as required as well as providing legal advice to the general Claims department on Claims related legal queries as they arise.
Mentor claims handlers and other staff in assisting them to upskill on litigation.
To provide independent legal advice to the Company on legal matters as required.
To ensure that AXA's customers receive "best in class" customer service and are kept advised as appropriate as the progress of the claim against their policy.
About The Person: A qualified litigation solicitor, with relevant insurance defence experience.
A career of over 7 years PQE with relevant insurance defence experience.
Minimum third level honours degree and solicitor entered on to the role of Solicitors in ROI.
In depth knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, practice notes and Rules of Court, District, Circuit, High Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Proven experience and competent negotiator To be an experienced and strategic litigator Experience in working as part of a team & willingness to innovate and bring forward new ideas.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with initiative.
Proven ability to interact with Senior Executives within the Company.
This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
