Operations Manager Ballyvaloo Retreat Centre (Full Time 39 hours per week, with availability for weekends and evening) The Sisters of St. John of God require a full-time Operations Manager for their Retreat Centre in Ballyvaloo, near Blackwater, County Wexford.
Ballyvaloo Retreat Centre is located in close proximity to a beautiful sandy beach, and offersRetreats and Reflection Days for groups and individuals.
It is also an ideal setting for workshops, seminars, meetings, and day or weekend courses.

The Operations Manager will support the Centre Director in implementing the strategic development of Ballyvaloo.
This role oversees the operational elements of the Centres services, ensuring effective resource optimisation, adherence to agreed budgets and targets, and upholding the Centres values.
The Operations Manager will be a key member of the Ballyvaloo Management Team, fostering a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests.
Key responsibilities include: Operations Management Financial Oversight Human Resources Communications Policy, Legislation & Regulation Sales & Marketing Guest Satisfaction.
The post may suit a person with a qualification in the hospitality sector, with relevant experience in managing in a welcoming environment offering high quality accommodation and catering.

Job Description for Operations Manager at Ballyvaloo Retreat Centre Job Title: Operations Manager REPORTS TO: Centre Director or designate.
ROLE PURPOSE: The Operations Manager supports the Centre Director in implementing the strategic development of Ballyvaloo.
This role oversees all operational elements of the Centres services, ensuring effective resource optimisation, adherence to agreed budgets and targets, and upholding the Centres values, ethos, and professional standards Direct Reports:All staff, through already established structures.
Hours of Work: Full time, 39 hours per week with availability for weekends and evenings as needed.
Probation Period: A six-month probation period applies to this position, during which performance will be reviewed.
Key Areas of Responsibility: The Operations Manager will be a key member of the Ballyvaloo Management Team, fostering a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests.
Key responsibilities include: Operations Management Monitor and manage Centre operations in line with strategic goals and budgetary targets.
Prepare annual budgets for approval and report regularly on performance, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
Oversee reservations and booking systems, ensuring regular reviews for improvement.
Collaborate with relevant personnel to maintain food production, hygiene, and service standards, complying with HACCP and other regulations.
Ensure high standards of housekeeping across all Centre areas, including kitchens, bedrooms, and public spaces.
Oversee the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules and contract compliance.
Manage IT systems, ensuring appropriate hardware and software availability.
Financial Oversight Control expenditure within approved budgets.
Provide monthly reports on revenue, profitability, and cash flow, covering food operations, household expenses, wages, maintenance, and other areas.
Implement secure systems for handling and recording all monies received by the Centre.
Ensure all receivables are pursued appropriately and cost controls are effective, delivering value for money.
Human Resources Assist in staff recruitment, conduct interviews, and oversee orientation.
Facilitate staff training and development to meet operational requirements.
Monitor employee performance and welfare, ensuring optimisation of staff utilisation through effective scheduling.
Maintain accurate employment records, including contracts, job descriptions, training documentation, and leave records.
Oversee weekly timesheet accuracy and filing, ensuring timely submission to the Regional Centre.
Conduct annual performance appraisals for all staff.
Communications Conduct regular planning and review meetings with the Centre Director.
Schedule and lead staff meetings to share updates on activities and plans.
Ensure timely and effective communication with staff, guests, and stakeholders.
Policy, Legislation & Regulation Ensure compliance with all SSJG policies, including Child Safeguarding, Health & Safety, and Fire Safety regulations.
Maintain legal compliance across all Centre operations and meet requirements set by the National Employment Regulatory Authority (NERA).
Develop and update policies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Sales & Marketing Collaborate with the Director to create marketing materials and leverage social media and modern technologies to promote the Centre.
Guest Satisfaction Monitor guest satisfaction through observation, feedback systems, and direct communication.
Develop and implement a complaints policy and procedure.
Work with staff to address and improve areas highlighted in guest feedback.
Additional Duties: This description outlines the general nature and level of work expected.

A formal performance appraisal will be conducted annually.
