JOB DESCRIPTION: Bar Supervisor/Cashier
The Victoria Hotel Galway is looking for a Full-time Bar supervisor/Cashier.
We are looking for a responsible and skilled bartender/supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the bar, mainly during the evening times, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and handling financial transactions accurately. This role combines supervisory duties with cashier responsibilities and bar serving skills.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar staff, including bartenders and servers.
- Train new employees on bar procedures, customer service standards, and POS systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs efficiently.
Cashier Duties:
- Accurately handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
- Balance cash registers and prepare daily financial reports.
- Process orders promptly and correctly using the POS system.
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded
- Manage and reconcile cash drawers and card readers at the end of shifts.
Customer Service:
- Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers with menu selections and upsell drinks and promotions.
- Monitor and ensure customer satisfaction throughout their visit.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory levels of beverages, garnishes, and supplies.
- Monitor product quality and ensure expired or low-quality items are not served.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with the Bar Manager to develop and implement bar policies and procedures.
- Assist in organizing and promoting bar events and specials.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bar supervisor, bartender, or cashier.
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, beverages, and cocktail recipes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
