Basic Grade Physiotherapist (Location: Ballymun road Dublin 9)Job Type: Full Time
Description:
We are currently seeking applications for a full-time Basic Grade Physiotherapist to join our community-based service. The post will involve providing physiotherapy interventions to adults with Intellectual Disability and complex needs in a range of community settings. We provide services in three regions: North Region (Ballymun); North-East Region (Coolock & Baldoyle); Southern Region (Goatstown). The post will require some flexibility across the St. Michael's House regions in response to service user needs.
Supervision will be available from experienced Senior Physiotherapists on the team and Line Management will be under the Physiotherapy Manager. Candidates interested in part-time positions are welcome to apply but please state this at application stage.
The successful candidate will have the following: Essential Criteria: Degree in Physiotherapy accredited by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.Be registered with or have registration in process with CORU at application stage.Have work experience or pre-qualification placement experience of specific relevance to service provision within adult intellectual disability services or another relevant area.Have an interest in working with adults with intellectual disability in a variety of settings and across the full range of Physiotherapy interventions with this population.Be committed to the delivery of quality, person-centred, community-based services.Have excellent communication and team working skills.Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a self-directed manner.A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).Desirable Criteria: Post-qualification work experience as a Physiotherapist within disability services.Experience in the area of 24-hour postural management with a recognised postural management course completed.Experience working with service users with balance issues and falls.Experience in the area of health promotion and exercise.Full clean driver licence and use of a car.Please outline in your cover letter your suitability for the role taking into account the criteria in the above advert.
