BenchMark has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Director to join an exciting, continuously growing and dynamic organisation.
Reporting to the CTO, the Head of Software Development will oversee the Software Development team, fostering a customer centric, performance driven, collaborative, and innovation focused culture.
The Role: Provide strategic leadership and guidance across diverse applications and software development methodologies.
Cultivate a team oriented, customer focused, and results driven environment that encourages innovation.
Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that address customer and market demands.
Develop and support the growth of software development talent, offering opportunities for career advancement, mentorship, and skill development.
Drive productivity and implement value engineering practices to meet customer commitments effectively.
Communicate project and delivery progress clearly to key stakeholders, including the CTO and executive leadership.
Maintain and enhance metrics and data systems to track and report software delivery performance.
Ensure adherence to best in class development practices, bringing external perspectives and insights to enhance organisational capabilities.
Requirments: A proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions on time and within budget, coupled with experience managing medium to large development teams.
Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, theories, practices, and tools.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels and departments.
Adept at balancing multiple priorities and requirements in a complex business environment.
Strong communication skills, enabling alignment with both internal and external stakeholders.
1015+ years of leadership experience in software development, particularly within software or SaaS product companies.
Experience with software solutions tailored for B2B environments, ranging from small businesses to enterprise customers.
Familiarity with regulated industries, particularly life sciences, is an advantage.
