They have an immediate requirement for a Linux System Administratorto join their team.
This is a great opportunity to join a well known and highly successful company based in Cork.
This is a hybrid role and initially for 12 months.
About the Position Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Collaborate with software developers and system analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software compatibility issues on Linux platforms.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability.
Experience/Requirements Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or KVM.
Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
Knowledge of storage technologies, such as RAID, SAN, and NAS.
Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
