Building Procurement Quantity Surveyor [ROI]We seek a competent and experienced quantity surveyor in building procurement to join our team at Wills Bros Ltd. The successful applicant will be commencing on a recently awarded Building Project in the Cork locale for a blue-chip Company.
As a quantity surveyor, you will manage all project costs, from the initial calculations to the final account. Your role will be highly critical in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects. Being a vital team member, you will work closely with the on-site team to manage the project costs and ensure it is completed within the stipulated budget. You will be essential to the venture's success by providing expert advice on cost management, subcontract/supplier negotiation and procurement.

Key Duties:Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management and cost-saving measures.Key Responsibilities:Understanding the client requirements specified in the various Contract Documents.Preparing the Project Procurement Schedule.Identifying long lead-in items.Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) where required from drawings and specification.Identifying gaps between the Contract BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.Liaise with the Design Co-ordinator and other members of the on-site team.Attendance at relevant meetings.Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.Preparation of Enquiries.Assessment of quotations and examination for compliance with enquiry.Production of Supplier & Subcontractor Comparison Assessments and procurement recommendation.Preparation and completion of Form of Subcontracts together with all associated documentation including Attendance Schedules, etc.Management of Subcontractor and Supplier accounts including certification of interim and final valuations, variations, and claims.Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money.Necessary Requirements:Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management or a related field.5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in an industrial building procurement role.Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards.Proficiency in cost estimation, and cost management techniques.Preferred skills and qualifications:Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.Ability to meet deadlines.Apply nowYour name
