The Role: Business Development Representative We are seeking energetic and driven Business Development Representatives to join our growing commercial team and fuel Skillko's next phase of growth.
Reporting to the Executive team, this role is essential in expanding market share and enhancing brand awareness within a competitive sector.
You will identify and engage new business opportunities, build strong relationships with potential customers, and collaborate closely with marketing to convert campaign-generated leads.
Success in this role requires a background in lead generation, meeting sales quotas, and excellent communication skills to nurture meaningful client relationships from the first contact through to deal closure, ensuring a seamless transition to account management for ongoing support and service.
This will be an in-office position based out of the Westport office.
Key Responsiblies Qualify leads generated from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
Reach out to potential clients through cold calls and emails.
Introduce our company and value proposition to prospective clients.
Identify client needs and recommend suitable products or services.
Tailor product solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
Build and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with clients.
Actively pursue new business opportunities in the market.
Schedule meetings or calls between prospective clients and Account Executives.
Provide weekly sales performance updates to the Business Development Manager.
Stay informed about new products, services, and pricing/payment plans.
Requirements Proven experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or in a similar role Skilled in various sales techniques, including cold calling and lead generation Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas Strong understanding of sales performance metrics and KPIs Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a talent for delivering engaging presentations Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred Familiarity with SaaS, cloud-based solutions, and internet technologies Exceptional consultative selling and closing skills Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new software tools Proficiency in GSuite (Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Gmail) or similar office software like MS Excel and MS Word Benefits Passionate, People-First Culture : Be part of an ambitious and supportive team that values respect, open communication, and collaborative decision-making.
