Business Operations Coordinator - GLS Ireland The role of the operations coordinator is to support the National Operations Manager in tasks related to managing and supporting the operations department throughout the GLS network. A list of responsibilities is detailed below, this list although comprehensive, cannot be considered full and final. At times, additional tasks may be deemed necessary to manage and support the operations department throughout the network, any such additional tasks will be communicated by the National Operations Manager.
A company car (EV) will be provided to facilitate the carrying out of your duties. Company car use must always be used in accordance with the GLS Ireland, Company Car Policy, a copy of which you will be provided.
The nature of the role will involve travel, it may on occasion be necessary to stay away overnight. Such overnights will be kept to a minimum but will be expected where necessary.
-The primary responsibility of the Operations Coordinator is to support the National Operations Manager in tasks related to and supporting the operations department throughout the national network.
- The core responsibilities of the role are based on the current daily tasks and responsibilities of a GLS Ireland depot Supervisor. These skills and responsibilities are transferred to a wider geographical area of responsibility.
- You will be responsible for working to all KPI's (costs, quality, health & safety) set by the company.
- You will help identify, develop and implement improvements within the operations department and its structure.
-Organize and attend regular performance management meetings with sub-contractors and agents.
-Organize and attend regular performance management meetings with staff.
-Manage sub-contractor and agent performance (cost and quality) -Support depot Supervisors and Team Leaders in sub-contractor and agent negotiations and meetings.
-Support depot Supervisors and Team Leaders in staff meetings, with staff levels and problem solving at a depot level.
-Ensure ISO and GDP standards are always met, including supporting depots with preparation for audits etc.
-Ensure adequate resources are available (staff and drivers) and in place to ensure productivity and delivery KPI's are met.
-Liasion with customers, including customer visits to ensure customer relationships are excellent and all customer needs are met. This may at times involve working closely with the Sales team on customer visits, negotiations and problem solving.
- Ensure everything is in place at a local level to provide customer collections and deliveries, on time and in line with SLA's.
-Actively engage and work with other departments (IT, Sales, Agency, Finance ) to ensure the operations Department is working in line with the business needs of our colleagues and GLS Ireland.
- You will be required to work on projects in line with the future business needs of GLS Ireland, this will involve working closely on inter-departmental tasks, and at time with our international partners.
- At times you will be able to work remotely, all remote work must be in line with the GLS Ireland remote working policy.
-The incumbent will manage all of South and east of Ireland and will be expected to be in Dublin head office once a week
