Not a seasonal position must be able to work 5 days over 7 OBJECTIVE To ensure that the fresh food department operates efficiently, effectively and hygienically at all times.
Commensurate with the highest standard of service and product.
SUITABLE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate must be a team player, must be knowledgeable in carcass beef and lamb.
The candidate will also have a working knowledge of ethnic meats and meat cuts to provide for the various requirements of our customer base.
The candidate must also be knowledgeable in ready to go meals and value added products.
Needs excellent counter skills and a customer focus JOB DESCRIPTION To be aware of, and adhere to all relevant regulations concerning H.A.C.C.P and Health and safety.
Any breaches of these regulations are to be reported to the General Manager/Retailer To monitor and control all department overheads To ensure that company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
To achieve sale targets as agreed with the General Manager/Retailer To ensure that stock-take procedures are followed and that the agreed margin is obtained To ensure that standard and promotional pricing is maintained correctly on a weekly basis To comply with all regulations concerning traceability of products and that all suppliers maintain the same focus To ensure that merchandising and product presentation is of the highest standard at all times To comply with all goods inwards and procedures To participate in quality review meetings and ensure that action plans resulting from same are carried out To ensure that stock rotation is adhered to, so that quality and freshness of products are of the highest standards at all times To ensure that the highest standards of personal customer care are extended to all customers at all times To perform any other duties as directed to you by General Management from time to time Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent communication skills Numerical abilities The ability to work as part of a team The ability to use initiative Sound judgement with the ability to make decisions Self-motivated Good attention to detail
