Our client, a leading sports/fashion retailer in Ireland, is seeking to recruit a Buyer. This role can be based out of their Castlebar or Galway office. You will need: A good knowledge of the sports business and a keen interest in sports fashion. Previous experience in a similar buying role is preferred. Be goal-driven – You'll select, range plan, and implement a go-to-market strategy for must-have sports accessories. Achieve all sales, margin, and stock turn targets as set out by the business. Total organization – You'll have perfect attention to detail when managing your categories and ensuring information is tracked and fed down to the business as required. Excellent communication skills – Work closely with all departments in the business as well as with our suppliers. Collaborative Approach – Partner with Ecommerce, marketing, merchandising, and operations to ensure our strategies and plans are executed to the best possible standards. Commercial Awareness – Understand our strategy, our customers, and our target consumer. Propose price action and stock movements in accordance with the company policy. Review supplier availability and plan intakes accordingly with the team. Build supplier/brand relationships and create strategy plans to align with company strategy. Manage development plan for team members supporting with objectives and coaching. Manage workload and output where required. Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external teams. Be confident, motivated, and can work independently. Excellent analytical and negotiation skills. An ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Full licence – You will visit stores regularly to offer support and acquire feedback on the direction of the category.
