Scope of the Role: Deliver best-in-class performance through professional, competitive, and efficient buying processes, controls, and systems.
Key Responsibilities of the Role: Responsible for procurement to pay process from sourcing to invoice clearance.Supplier sourcing and negotiations.Conducting bid analysis and processing of purchase orders.Liaison with suppliers and accounts payable team regarding invoice queries.The preparation of regular reports on purchasing activities.Maintain Procurement Schedules with project teams and planning function.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as sites and suppliers.Maximize value opportunities through adherence to specific supplier agreements.Work with other buyers and data management in further developing low value high volume product categories.Take the lead on materials purchasing for specific projects as assigned by purchasing manager.Work with other buyers and Line Manager to eliminate wasteful processes.Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.Essential Criteria for the Role: Must have construction buying experience in the construction industry.Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company.Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a similar role.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Work well as part of a team towards a common goal.Negotiating experience.A third-level qualification preferably in supply chain or other related discipline.Previous ERP experience.Core Competencies: Business AcumenFollow-upInformation MonitoringMaintaining performance under pressureNegotiationOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and OrganizingMercury is an equal opportunities employer.
