On behalf of our client, a leading retailer with a strong presence nationwide, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join their Head Office team based in Little Island, Co. Cork. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in developing and managing diverse product assortments that meet market trends and customer demands.

As a Buyer, you will work closely with the Senior Buyer, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), and other cross-functional teams to analyse sales data, identify trends, and create effective buying strategies. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and experience in retail buying or merchandising.

What's in it for you: Competitive base salary with a structured bonus scheme.Additional annual leave entitlement based on length of service.Generous staff discounts and complimentary shoes.Reward and incentive packages.Cycle-to-Work Scheme and service anniversary rewards.Career development opportunities in a supportive and engaging work culture.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement innovative buying strategies to maximize sales and margins while maintaining optimal stock levels.Conduct market research and evaluate consumer trends to ensure an appealing and profitable product assortment.Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms, pricing, and product availability.Analyse sales performance, gross margins, stock turnover, and inventory levels, making adjustments to enhance efficiency.Assist in preparing seasonal assortment plans and participate in key meetings such as weekly business reviews and quarterly forecasts.Support promotional planning and execution to drive category performance.Collaborate with brand and category teams to align product strategies with broader business goals.Provide regular performance insights and recommendations to senior management to improve assortment planning.Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in a buying or merchandising role within retail, with a strong understanding of consumer trends across product categories.Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and other MS Office tools for data reporting and analysis.Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across teams and external partners.Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.Experience with inventory management and web-based tools is an advantage.Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven professional to make a significant impact within a leading retail organization.
