Capacity Install Technician, DCC CommunitiesWe are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Capacity Install Technician to join our Rack Install team. The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the installation of our next-generation networks.
The position responsibilities will include scaling support of several data center locations and assisting with capacity management. The Capacity Install Technician will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth execution of the Rack Installation process.
Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, detail-oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and has significant experience supporting large scale, enterprise-class networks. Excellent network implementation and troubleshooting skills, combined with a proven documentation methodology, are also required. The desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesManage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.Ability to travel within the geographical work area is required; up to 80% travel outside the traditional work area will be required.Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction.Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.Minimum RequirementsHigh school or equivalent diploma.Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.Experience in networking.Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
