What you'll be doing...You'll be leading the sourcing process for an IT Category within the IT Sourcing Department, where we spend more than five hundred million dollars per year. While guiding your internal clients through the acquisition process, you'll be identifying potential suppliers, drafting requirements and agreements, analyzing qualifications, negotiating deals, identifying savings opportunities, and monitoring supplier performance. Our purchasing power combined with your skills and expertise will help us maintain our market-leading position. Come play a meaningful role in driving continuous cost savings and revenue generation.
Negotiating commercial terms for new agreements and renewals (Master License agreements, Cloud agreements, SOWs, Order Forms, etc.)Guiding internal business partners through the supplier selection process.Working cross-functionally to document requirements, build RFPs, conduct negotiations for renewal or new agreements, and identify savings opportunities.Handling the sourcing process, ensuring that it aligns with our policies.Lead various cross-functional teams to develop Verizon's requirements and reach consensus on the commercial approach.Work closely with Legal counsel, Contract Manager, Tax, and other policy subject matter experts to establish new or renewal agreements with suppliers.Plan and propose sourcing strategies that best support the business.Validating that suppliers are upholding contract terms and conditions.Present and update key deal executive memos to the Leadership team for new contracts and renewals.Create and update Category Strategy.Performing market analyses to find potential new suppliers.What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.Supply Chain Sourcing experience.Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Business degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration.Experience in sourcing within the IT category.Program management, request-for-proposal, and vendor selection experience.Strong negotiation skills & cost management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication & problem-solving skills.Supply chain certification, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISM).Project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.Lean Six Sigma certification.Additional Job Description: Performs as a sourcing expert actively managing multiple highly visible, time-sensitive activities.Effectively interfaces with all levels of management, and efficiently ensures the sourcing process is completed.Drives end-to-end sourcing strategy, performance effectiveness/efficiency, and value/revenue generation.Analyzes high-volume purchases and develops long-term partnerships with a select group of suppliers capable of providing quality products and services at low cost.Develops, manages, and drives key sourcing relationships critical to the business and impacting the entire customer base.Executes supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned categories, with oversight regarding supplier relationship management.Monitors internal customers and supply markets for changes that may impact sourcing strategies.Negotiates and completes key strategic deals and drives aspects of complex strategic sourcing processes.Partners with business partners, contracts with management and legal teams, serving as a trusted advisor to develop strategy, objectives, and plans.Performs analyses of financial and business data related to sourcing operations and capability assessments.Plans and proposes strategies that best support the business, create efficiencies, and provide outstanding performance.
