What we are looking to achieve? Verizon's Supply Chain organization is building a best-in-class, Global Strategic Sourcing Centre of Excellence based in Dublin. We wish to attract the biggest-thinking minds in the international strategic sourcing industry, to create, build and run a team that sets the benchmark across the globe, whilst driving outstanding shareholder value for Verizon. As a Principal Sourcing Specialist, you will be part of a team that will control and manage one of the largest annual technology spends in the world.
You'll be leading the sourcing process for Macro Cell Site construction & maintenance across the Network. While guiding your internal clients through the Sourcing process, you'll be identifying potential suppliers, drafting requirements, analyzing qualifications, negotiating deals, and monitoring supplier performance. Our purchasing power combined with your skills and expertise will help us maintain our market-leading position. Come play a meaningful role in driving continuous cost savings and revenue generation.
Performing market analyses to find potential suppliers.Guiding internal business partners through the supplier selection process.Working cross-functionally to document requirements, build RFPs and conduct negotiations.Handling the sourcing process, ensuring that it aligns with our policies.Validating that suppliers are upholding contract terms and conditions.Lead role in supporting Verizon's cost savings and revenue generation business goals through the sourcing process for large spend category areas.Drive all aspects of complex strategic sourcing process, including but not limited to, taking lead on contract negotiations of business and pricing terms and conditions, conducting research and providing benchmark data on pricing and/or other key terms.Process large amounts of and varying types of data to extrapolate favourable conclusions.Work with Business Partners to resolve supplier related business issues for example, Contract language interpretation / clarification.Maximize Verizon's purchasing power to achieve a lower cost while mitigating risk.Take a lead role and simultaneously work with and lead multiple teams to guide selections of low-cost and highly technically qualified Suppliers to provide needed services.Stay current with industry trends for assigned category area, and becomes a Trusted Advisor to our Business Partners.Set the strategic plan for your categories.Present new products, technologies and services from existing or new suppliers to clients.You'll need to have: Degree in Supply Chain or relevant work experience.Strategic Sourcing experience.Even better if you have: Business degree in supply chain, engineering, or construction management. Ideally, an MBA.Lean Six Sigma certification.Project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.Supply chain certification, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISM).Program management, budget management, request-for-proposal, and vendor selection experience.Experience with site walk-throughs, construction insurance requirements and construction bidding processes.Experience in telecommunication/Technology or labour based sourcing.Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
