The Association provides community-based Day, Residential, and Support Services for more than 250 individuals.
DescriptionApplications are invited for an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate health or social care professional or equivalent. The successful candidate's role will be in the leadership, management and development of services supporting adults with an Intellectual Disability. The Centre Manager/PIC will be responsible for the organisation and allocation of resources, for the successful implementation of the Association's policies and the day-to-day management of the services. Contract: Specified Purpose, Full-Time (39 hours per week)
Location: Rathmore, Co Kerry
*Rosters may be subject to change due to the operational requirements of the service* Summary of duties and responsibilities: Support the overall day-to-day management of Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for two residential services in Rathmore.Responsible for effectively leading, motivating and supervising the staff team.Responsible for effectively managing the available resources, within the allocated budget in consultation with the Assistant Director of Services.To support staff to train and upskill in models appropriate to ID/Autism Services.Responsible for ensuring the provision of a person-centered service to those supported by KPFA.To be the key communicator to all stakeholders, i.e. staff, residents, management, family and other service providers.To develop relationships and linkages with community groups and other disability agencies.To ensure that all staff work in a coordinated manner and in the best interests of each person.To act as the Person In Charge in accordance with HIQA Regulations.The post is evolutionary in nature and consequently the Centre Manager/PIC may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time.Minimum Qualifications: Possess a level 7 in Social Care plus a level 8 or higher in health or a management related 3rd level qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework.Possess a nursing qualification plus a level 8 or higher in health or a management related 3rd level qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework.Possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Social Care Worker Registration Board, CORU.And Must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers registration board with CORU from November 2023, must obtain such registration by November 2025 and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role.Or Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.And Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.If a qualified nurse, maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais.Have a suitable standard of professional attainments.Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.Possess or working towards a relevant management qualification.Post graduate training in Positive Behaviour Support is desirable.An excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, the role of a person in charge and Health Act 2007.Good understanding of HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, people management, communication and engagement.A full driver's licence with access to a car insured for business purposes and must be willing to drive Association vehicles is essential.Where applicable, applicants must hold a valid Irish work permit.Experience: Must have a minimum 5 years' experience of working in residential services supporting adults with a range of high support needs and behaviours of concern.Must have a minimum of 3 years' operational management or supervisory experience – which must include the supervision of staff and volunteers.Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility.A proven ability to lead and support teams.Experience of commitment to promoting community presence and ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills.Must have experience of using alternative communication methods.Applicants must be flexible to meet the requirements of the service.Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines is desirable.*In relation to offers of employment, evidence of relevant employment experience must be clearly detailed in both your application form and CV.
