Cherryfield Lodge Job Description Position: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) Accountable to: Nurse Manager and the Cherryfield Lodge Board in her absence.
Reporting to: Nurse Manager/Person in Charge.

CNM1 Recruitment Requirements Qualifications: Registered Nurse with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
Appropriate management and leadership qualification.
Experience and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, the Health Act 2007, and associated regulations for older person care.
Minimum of three years' experience as a CNM1 within the last six years in older person care or other relevant areas.
Additional Skills: Interest in Gerontology (a qualification in this field is an advantage).

Excellent communication skills Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision: Provide professional and clinical leadership within the unit.
Supervise qualified and unqualified staff, maintaining a safe working environment.
Lead infection control initiatives and manage infectious disease protocols.
Operational Management: Support the Nurse Manager in unit management and deputize in her absence.
Take charge of the unit, ensuring safe staffing levels.
Complete notifications to relevant authorities in the Nurse Manager's absence.
Quality Care: Deliver evidence-based nursing care.
Monitor care to ensure well-being of residents.
Policies and Procedures: Adhere to policies, standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
Contribute to the development of unit policies, quality improvements, and health and safety standards.
Training and Education: Ability to organize continuing education, guide, and assess staff performance.
Lead orientation for new staff and act as a preceptor for students.
Encourage personal and professional development.
Communication and Teamwork: Facilitate good communication within the Team.

Salary Scales (as per INMO Scale with incremental pay, October 2024): Incremental rates based on experience: Starting at €54,981, up to €64,750.
