VACANCY:  Chief Perfusionist (Full-time, Permanent)   Mater Private Hospital, Cork are currently inviting applications for the position of Chief Perfusionist as part of our ongoing service expansion in line with Hospital strategy.
The successful Candidate will be responsible for the development, oversight, and coordination of Perfusion Services, including clinical and operational activities, personnel, strategic planning, and fiscal activities for Perfusion Services within the expanded Cardiothoracic Surgical Program.
  The Chief Perfusionist will oversee leading the development and implementation of the Perfusion Service, investing in quality staff, managing costs responsibly and investing in Clinical development.
The successful candidate will also provide leadership and support within the Cardiac Surgical team, helping to create a climate where individuals are empowered to be effective in their own roles.
A key element to this role will involve maintaining collaborative working relationships across relevant disciplines to ensure the delivery of quality Perfusion Service, integral to patient care   Candidate Requirements   Essential           Be accredited and registered by the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland as a practising Clinical Perfusionist.
        Have the Clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
        Have at least 5 years' experience as a Clinical Perfusionist.
        Have a strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary bypass techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  Desirable:         Previous experience in a Senior or Deputy Chief Perfusionist role.
        Qualifications or completed course in a Management related discipline.
        MSc in a related Healthcare area.
Salary is based on the existing Chief Medical Scientist market 9-point scale and be commensurate with qualifications and experience   In addition to this the Chief Perfusionist will be expected to establish and manage an On Call rotation.
This is for any emergencies that develop with any patients that require Cardiac Surgery services.
The level of On Call service will be determined by the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the frequency of which is deemed appropriate to the Cardiac Surgery service.
This may change as the service develops.
