Key Responsibilities as Health & Safety Manager Positively and actively drive towards an embedded HS&E culture taking an approach that creates a continually improving focus on preventative actions, reduction of injuries, and the promotion of health and environmentally friendly operations.
Assist in ensuring that all employees and sub-contractors are fully compliant and up to date in all Health, Safety & Workplace legislation.
Communicate effectively, translating HS&E compliance standards using modern software to direct the business presented in the form of procedures, bulletin material, verbal support, mentoring, and coaching.
Root cause analysis of accidents and preventing recurrence and carry out site safety inspections and conduct accident and dangerous occurrence investigations, within your designated area of responsibility Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and carry out their duties in the best interests of the company, to promote Clancy company core values.
Ensure compliance of safety management system with ISO 45001 standard.
Ensure all work carried out by the safety department is carried out as per the requirements of the Clancy Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Participate in Clancy Integrated Management System team and provide oversight for changes and system improvements with pertain to the Safety Management System within the IMS.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and carry out their duties in the best interests of the company, to promote Clancy company core values.
Maintenance of company safety statements and safety policy, Supervision and management of safety officers.
Schedule and oversight of site audits and inspections.
Assist in the implementation of improvement actions as directed by the EHSQ director.
Review and monitor site audits and trends to identify and resolve issues as required by the IMS.
Ensure that record of statutory inspections are maintained for all activities and plant equipment Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority for the project and all incident / accident reporting and to conduct inspector site visits as required by the Health & Safety Authority Deliver Safety & Environmental induction programs for new employees, Ensure AF1&2 forms are completed and retained as required.
Ensure safety officers compile site safety pack.
Liaise with the PSDP as required.
Ensure all employees and contractors have the appropriate training and certifications for the activities required and ensure training for same is provided where required.
Ensure subcontractors insurance is appropriate for the required project and task.
Manage and make recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment required for all employees.
Ensuring sub-contractor safety statements and required method statements are available on site and assess sub-contractor statements and method statements.
Ensure preliminary accident investigations and statutory notifications are conducted.
Prepare and submit monthly (or as required) safety department report to EHSQ director.
Ensure first aid is available on all sites, that an adequate quantity of first aid supplies is in stock and that all relevant certs are updated.
Adherence with all relevant procedures, forms, and documents as per FM-AM-11.
Qualifications/Experience: Experience ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
A minimum of a Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety.
You have a strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice.
