We are seeking to recruit candidates with experience fulfilling the duties of Clerk of Works/Inspector for a high-profile road/cycling/active travel scheme in the east of Galway City, for an estimated 18 to 24 months, commencing construction in November 2024.
Desirable skills/attributes: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.Experience of ensuring works are compliant with the Works Requirements and Road Specifications.A good record keeper.Enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible.Willing to take responsibility and comfortable working as part of a team.An excellent communicator, written and verbal in English.Primary Duties will include: Act as Clerk of Works / Inspector on behalf of the Designers' Site Team, based on-site to oversee quality and compliance of works.Ensure that reports and related photographic records are maintained of all works including covered works prior to closing up.Inspecting construction work and comparing it with drawings and specifications.Measuring and quality checking materials.Identifying defects and liaising with designers/contractor regarding solutions.Monitoring progress and reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer (full-time on-site), Resident Engineer (full time on-site) and Employer's Representative (office based).Keeping detailed records of work.Referring to plans and taking photographs of work, along with measurements and samples.Liaising with contractors, engineers, and surveyors.Highlighting issues related to health, safety and the environment.Terms and Conditions: Competitive salary subject to experience.A vehicle will be provided for the duration of the works.25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.Working week of 8hrs per day, 5 days per week; with the possibility of some weekend and night works (only if and when required).About Us: At AtkinsRéalis, we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.
