We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Engineering Technician to join the manufacturing team based at our Enable Ireland, SeatTech, Sandymount Avenue, Dublin 4, D04 T959.
Contract Status: Permanent full-time
SeatTech is a leading national provider of special seating systems for people who use wheelchairs as their primary means of mobility. Our mission at SeatTech is to work together with the people who access our services, to provide the best possible seating, wheelchair and positioning aids, designed to meet their individual needs.
The Role: The Clinical Engineering Technician efficiently produces wheelchair seating systems to a high quality standard, and in conformance with regulatory requirements & departmental work procedures.
The Clinical Engineering Technician produces SeatTech products in the most efficient & productive manner possible. This requires participation & co-operation with workflow planning systems including stock management and quality assurance systems.
Clinical Engineering Technicians contribute to ongoing transition from traditional manufacturing methods to advanced scanning & digital production methods (CNC milling/3D printing).
Clinical Engineering Technicians work with Special Seating Clinicians and under the supervision of senior technical staff in supporting the needs of the people who attend our services.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities
The Clinical Engineering Technician produces devices to a high standard, and in the most productive & efficient way possible.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Product design
• Product manufacture
• Product repairs
• Products ordering
• Supporting the stock management process
The successful candidate will have: • NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant field of engineering, or NFQ Level 6 qualification in manufacturing, metal fabrication, toolmaking, carpentry or equivalent with a significant level of appropriate experience.
• Workshop & machine tools training, and manufacturing workshop experience to include experience using machine tools and handheld power tools.
• Understanding of, and commitment to adhere to, line management structure and willingness to adhere to organisational policies & procedures.
• Ability to demonstrate effectiveness of verbal & written communication skills.
• Ability to provide examples demonstrating the capacity to deliver high-quality results where attention to detail is a key component of the work.
• Demonstrable technical competence – a hands-on practical assessment will form part of the selection process.
• Flexibility, and a demonstrable ability to work efficiently - both on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Experience in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Proven track record in problem-solving.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Eligibility to be registered as 'Engineering Technician' with Engineers Ireland.
• Biomedical Engineering or equivalent qualification to NFQ Level 8.
