DescriptionOverall Purpose of the Post As a member of the Nurse Management team, the post holder has a pivotal role in co-ordination, development, and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are:
Management of Patient CareResource ManagementStaffing ManagementStaff and Service DevelopmentFacilitating communication and professional/clinical leadershipThe CNM1 will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring, and compassion are at the centre of all we do. The CNM1 will be responsible for monitoring activity, developing, and delivering an agreed level of service.
The CNM1 will deputise for the CNM2 and, when required, will work the core hours of the CNM2, planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area while playing a pivotal role as part of the Multidisciplinary team.
In the absence of CNM2 PAAU Ophthalmology, the CNM1 will be responsible for carrying out Ophthalmic Biometric measurements as appropriate and ensuring all patients attending for elective, particularly day case procedures, have an appropriate pre-admission assessment.
