Clinical Nurse Manger 2 Hepatobiliary /Gist Surgical Oncology Service (Permanent, Part Time 0.5wte/18.75hrs) The post holder will be: Professional Accountable to the Director of Nursing Accountable to the Assistant Director of Nursing Clinically Accountable to the Consultant Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgeon Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; The Clinical Nurse Manger 2 Hepatobiliary/Gist Surgical Oncology Service will have a responsibility to audit the service and to actively participate in education and research . Promote a safe clinical environment with due regard to health and safety and risk management strategies.
Represent the Hepatobiliary Pancreatic/GIST team at local, national, and international meetings as required.
Develop the ability to use the resource provided in an effective and economic manner.
Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership in all aspects of nursing care.
Act as positive and accountable role model in providing direct patient care.
Assess, evaluate, and review the requirements of individual patient needs.
Undertake comprehensive patient assessment to include physical, psychological, social, and spiritual elements of care using best evidence-based practice in Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgical Oncology care.
Undertake a lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the service provided to patients.
Use a case management approach to patients with complex needs in collaboration with MDT in both Primary and Secondary Care as appropriate.
Take a proactive role in the formulation and provision of evidence based PPPGs relating to Hepatobiliary Pancreatic/GIST Surgical Oncology care.
Contribute to the development of PPPGs and safe professional practice and adhere to relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Comply with Health Service Executive (HSE) Complaints Policy Ensure completion of incident/near miss forms and clinical risk reporting Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements with regard to quality, risk and safety.
Provide an efficient, effective, and high-quality service, respecting the needs of each patient, family and/or carer.
Effectively manage time and caseload in order to meet changing and developing service needs.
Eligibility Criteria: The successful applicant will: Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to be so registered.
Have at least 5 years post registration clinical experience of which 2 years must be experience in acute surgical nursing.
Have the ability to practice safely and effectively to fulfilling the professional responsibility of the role within his/her scope of practice.
Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skill and be able to demonstrate a high standard of verbal and written communication skills.
Will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to personal professional development, training, and nursing research.
Desirable Criteria: Candidate will hold a recognised post-registration qualification applicable to area of Nursing or be willing to undertake such a qualification .
