Clinical Focus (Direct and Indirect Care)Education and TrainingAudit and ResearchConsultancy (including leadership in clinical practice)Caseload The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CAMHS) has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, recovery-oriented, high-quality, team-based, integrated care for children and persons under 18 years of age with mental health difficulties. The purpose of the role is to provide support to the individual child/young person and their family and/or carer through the delivery of appropriate treatment and recovery-oriented interventions in the community and in Eist Linn. This will include domiciliary visits, family support, and liaison with other services.
This post will support the National Mental Health Clinical programme delivery. The post holder will undertake clinical assessments, initiate a range of evidence-based recovery-oriented clinical interventions, and link closely with a range of statutory services in secondary and primary care services and with voluntary services in the local community.
They will be expected to work as a member of a mental health team, undertaking standardised assessments and management along with assertive follow-up involving families/carers as appropriate. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CAMHS) will also work collaboratively with other nursing specialist areas within Cork Kerry Community Healthcare CAMHS Services.
