VHI Health and Wellbeing is hiring an experienced pharmacist to support the provision of pharmacy services across our clinics nationally as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role will be based in Dublin but will require some travel within Ireland. The role will be a combination of clinical pharmacy and informatics.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with an interest in informatics to work alongside a multidisciplinary team in maintaining, developing and optimising our recently launched EPR (Electronic Patient Record) and ePMA ( Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration) while also having clinical commitment. To be responsible for the provision of a high quality comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to your area of responsibility promoting the best clinical and cost effective use of medicines management resources. To be involved in the strategic planning and service development of clinical pharmacy services within your areas of responsibility. Develop and expand a pharmacy service which will provide clinical pharmacy input into the care of patients in close co-operation with medical and nursing staff. This will include review and clinical input on all aspects of the medication use process. Work with other clinical analysts and ICT staff to maintain and develop electronic prescribing records. Configure and maintain prescribing related information, including: Addition of new drugs Deletion of discontinued drugs Updating doses, formulation and administration information to reflect product changes Updating drugs and doses to reflect changes in treatment guidelines Validation of programme including changes and or modifications to prescribing/dispensing/administration systems to minimise risk of medication error. Provide education and training to staff as required Actively participate in continuing education and research activities consistent with the post. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide patient centered care Promote and develop a culture of quality and safety in line with the Vhi H&W QSR Framework and the Vhi H&W Mission, Vision and Values Education & Experience Essential : Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 3 years experience working as a clinical pharmacist in outpatient or inpatient setting, ideally in a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication negotiation, influence and diplomacy skills Change management skills, from a policy perspective Ability to produce and analyse trends outcomes Ability to handle a diverse and challenging workload Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions Knowledge of current and established professional understanding of continuous quality improvement and skills to develop and implement excellent standards of practice Excellent verbal, written and communication skills appropriate to audience and situation Ability to relate effectively and build productive relationships at all levels of a complex organisation Desirable: Postgraduate clinical qualification Experience with Healthcare Informatics. Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values Skills and Abilities Regulatory: Awareness of and adherence to the seven statutory principles of the code of conduct for pharmacists as mandated by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) Interpersonal: This role will involve work in a multidiscplinary team to provide patient focused care. The ideal individual will work well in a team environment.
