Cognitive Behavioural Therapist Medforce are delighted to have partnered with a well-established and highly renowned children's disability service in Co. Meath to find a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Joining the team means becoming a valued member of a hard-working and supportive multidisciplinary team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to children with a range of disabilities, helping them manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall mental well-being. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the cognitive and emotional needs of children with disabilities. Develop and implement individualized CBT treatment plans to address specific issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioural problems, and adjustment difficulties. Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of each child. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and doctors, to ensure a holistic approach to care. Educate and support families on CBT techniques and strategies to continue therapy at home. Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive care plans. Essential Criteria: A degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field, with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Professional accreditation with a recognized body (e.g., BABCP, IACP, PSI). Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
