Actavo Commercial Manager - ESB Commercial Dublin Permanent PART 1: Role Details Role Title Commercial Manager Department ESB Reports To Head of Commercial Location ROI PART 2: Role Purpose The role of the Commercial Manager is to ensure that project controls are in place to manage all costs related to the project, minimising the cost variances of a project and achieving maximum value for money, whilst maintaining the required company standards.
The Commercial manager will be responsible for the provision of effective financial and contractual control on all contracts, whilst ensuring that all contractual communications and notices are compliant.

Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you To provide comprehensive financial and surveying related information as required by Senior Management, including monthly performance review meetings Effective control and accurate reporting of Work in Progress (WIP) and Working Capital Conduct Monthly P&L reviews and responsible for the maintenance of project and divisional CVRs Completion of feasibility studies, and risk / value management exercises and to provide support to the preparation of cost plans, estimates and cash flow projections Work alongside Business Development colleagues in preparing contract tenders/renewals.
Provide estimating department with statistical information for new rates Management of contractual communications and notices, utilising client's electronic communication tools where necessary To evaluate and determine the works for payment and final account purposes, ensuring robust records are kept Effective management of subcontractor accounts and maintenance of subcontractor agreements and documentation Consult with client representatives and other members of the operations team to ensure effective communications and a cohesive working environment, including preparation of reports and presentation of reports at client meetings where required Monitor and ensure that full payment is received for all work claimed and certified Management of variations (CVIs / DFEs), ensuring company and client processes are followed, and that all variations are reviewed and determined in a timely manner Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and group stakeholders Be a key influencer in system and process development Review new and existing contracts and make sure that all processes are compliant and within contractual terms Ensure that commercial staff adhere to company and commercial process Review data output and challenge operational teams where required PART 4: Person Specification Experience and Qualifications Degree/Qualification in Quantity Surveying Commercial and financial experience within complex projects Experience of various contract types and the legal framework Prior management experience in a senior level role Skills & Competencies (evidence of) Technical Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Proven commercial and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of contract requirements Business Skills Financial Management: Cost Tracking and Budget Planning People Management Leadership Project change controlling Delegation and Time Management Communication and Negotiation Networking Interpersonal Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills required Personal Working understanding of procurement, stock management, health and safety best practice and legislation.
Good self-discipline with a strong commitment to quality and procedures.
Strong customer focus and commitment to quality of service Positive and helpful manner combined with the ability to meet deadlines.
