You will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring financial efficiency, and maintaining profitability. The role would suit an established Commercial Manager, or a Senior QS looking to take the next steps in their career.
Key Responsibilities: Commercial Management: Oversee all commercial aspects of projects, including procurement, contract management, cost control, and financial reportingCost Estimation & Planning: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project specificationsContract Administration: Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely resolution of disputesRisk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring financial viability and compliance with regulatory requirementsFinancial Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to senior management, including cost analysis, cash flow forecasts, and profitability assessmentsProcurement: Lead the procurement process, negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditionsProject Monitoring: Monitor project progress against budget and schedule, implementing corrective actions where necessary to maintain project objectivesStakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfactionTeam Leadership: Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentKey Requirements: Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within a main contracting environmentBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
