Job Specification:Reporting to the Head of Product in the Underwriting function, the Commercial Underwriting Portfolio Specialist has responsibility for the proactive management of the commercial portfolio to deliver against its business plan. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the FBD team, shaping our Commercial Insurance proposition and securing our position as favoured Insurer to Irish SME businesses.
Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be product owner for Commercial products, assuming interest and developing perspective of all aspects of the product in the portfolio affecting pricing, customer outcomes, and growth.You will ensure that commercial products are suitable to meet the needs of customers and are compliant in all aspects.You will lead Underwriting Product Oversight and Governance implementation across the Commercial Product suite.You will be a lead contributor to annual budgeting, strategy, and initiative planning.You will utilise and develop MI to ensure performance and outcomes are being tracked and acted upon.You will manage acceptance criteria and decision collateral within the boundaries of the Underwriting governance framework to support the achievement of business strategy.You will supervise the control environment in Commercial underwriting, ensuring quality standards are achieved and championing improvement and efficiencies.Support underwriting teams with clear portfolio plans, quality underwriting, and risk appetite guidance.Minimum RequirementsEducationProfessional Insurance Qualifications – ideally to Associateship level or higher.
ExperienceA minimum of 5 years management experience in the Insurance Industry with a deep understanding of principles of portfolio management and the marketing of commercial Insurance products.
