Location: Dublin and Kildare
Contract: Permanent, working full-time Monday to Friday
Responsibilities: Support to patients discharged with a stoma from the assigned hospitals and surrounding area in support of the Acute based teamsDeliver specialist intermittent self-catheterisation to patientsMeeting patients in assigned hospitals to provide stoma care and ISC supportProvide safe, effective and specialist nursing care, information and advice to patients and their relativesTeach and support other nursing and non-nursing staff and carers as requiredProvide specialist clinical advice on the safe provision of a stoma care nursing service and ISCFoster good communication links and co-operation between GPs, Community Nurses, Ward Managers and other disciplines / departmentsEnsure timely and accurate entry of data into appropriate patient record keeping systems that meet the requirements of data protection and ensure that company liability is within current regulationSupport the introduction of new products and provide opportunities for end users to reviewParticipate in discussion and the operation of research programmes affecting patients and the serviceWork with Company Nurse Manager to set annual clinical objectives and track regularly to ensure timely completionPerson Specification: Community / district nurse experience (desirable)Recognised Stoma Care Qualification (desirable)Car driver essential (home visits will be required)Proven experience with an interest within the stoma care / colorectal / ISC areaEvidence of recent post registration training and development
