Job Description Applications are invited for the position of Technical Engineer as part of the Concrete Products Technical Team, the role is a national role based in the company headquarters in Belgard, Dublin.
The successful candidate will report to the Concrete Products Technical Manager.
  The candidate will have the following specific responsibilities: Awareness & implementation of company health and safety policy including the promotion of company initiatives.
Carry out Research and Development, and verification of concrete products in a laboratory-based environment to develop new and sustainable concrete solutions.
Active engagement with production staff and the quality team to improve production procedures and product quality and reduce the potential for non-conformities and customer complaints.
Provide technical support to regional quality control teams.
Monitor and report on quality and conformity matters.
Review performance metrics and optimise the use of constituent materials.
Review performance data to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Assist commercial teams with technical matters including specification vetting and customer enquiries.
Provide technical information as required to customers.
Engage with customers and industry bodies in the promotion of concrete products by providing CPDs (Continuous Professional Development) and site demonstrations.
Provide support in the investigation of customer complaints.
About The Role Candidates should ideally possess : Level 7 Engineering qualification or relevant 3rd level qualification (preferably in one of the following areas Construction/Building Technology, Civils, Structures, Architecture).
Full clean drivers' licence.
Interest in researching sustainable solutions within the concrete products range.
Knowledge/experience of the building materials/construction industry.
A familiarisation with Concrete Products related Irish and European standards, including test methods.
(Masonry, Mortars, Screeds, Concrete Paving) Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
Ability to be a Team player with an ability to work on own initiative.
Fluent in English with good communication, written skills, and attention to detail.
Be self-driven with desire to show flexibility as required.
Training and mentoring will be available to develop the role in full.
