The Role We are looking for a Connectivity Solutions Test Engineer with an inquisitive mind to join our diverse test engineering community.
The test team responsible for verifying Cubic Connectivity solutions is growing due the expansion of Cubic's products offering and the adoption of new technologies in our network.
The candidate should be a team player and will work in the Dublin office within the team responsible for ensuring the quality of Cubic Telecom ecosystem, focusing on SIM and Network products as part of the connectivity solutions provided to our customers. The ideal candidate would be someone with a keen eye for details, comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and with a strong appetite to learn new technologies.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer to demonstrate technical and organisational abilities, working in a small team of experienced engineers at the cutting edge of IoT technologies, supporting other technical teams on full end to end solutions and being exposed to a diverse range of areas across the business.
Key responsibilities: Review and interpret product requirements around the connectivity solution to create input for test projects.Work closely with the other technical teams (Network, SIM and SW engineering departments) and Product Owners to ensure correct approach and maximize test reach/coverageWrite, prepare, and execute test cases, including identification of test tools and preparation of test data in accordance with the project test strategy.Identify gaps in current verification and inefficiencies in the existing tools kit and propose automation or process solutionsRaise, prioritise, and follow up on the resolution of defects.Analyse test results, prepare test reports and provide assessment of product quality to stakeholders.Contribute to the development of standards and procedures for measuring product quality and release readiness.Ability to trouble-shoot and diagnose issues that are reported by customers.Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related disciplines.Minimum of 2 years professional experience in test planning and execution mandatory, preferably with some exposure to the Mobile Networks domainThorough working experience in QA/Testing methodologies, including E2E testing.Experience using Test Management and Issue Tracking software.Good analytical skills and proven experience in analysing and verifying complex business rules.Effective problem-solving skills an excellent attention to detail.Ability to work unsupervised, prioritise work tasks and take responsibility for the completion of tasks.Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.Self-motivated individual with a desire to learnProfessional written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in an Agile environment.Highly valuable on-hands experience with modem testing and knowledge of AT commands.Experience with troubleshooting and identifying issues within data networks, using packet analyzer (e.g. Wireshark)Experience using API test tools such as SOAP UI or Postman.Experience working on Linux and familiarity with SSH/Telnet and tools such as PuttyKnowledge of PS Core network node and call flows.Knowledge of Over the Air (OTA)Knowledge of SIM card technology, features and appletsExperience with test automation frameworksPrevious exposure to software projects that were implemented in a µServices architecturePrevious exposure to Microsoft Azure, Service Fabric, Azure ServiceBus or NServiceBusPrevious exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB, CosmosDB or others25 days annual leave + 2 company daysHealth InsurancePension ContributionIncome ProtectionESOPBike to work schemeSports and social activitiesGreat annual office outings (Summer BBQ, Christmas party, charity runs)Bits & Bobs days (Half day every quarter to get your Bits & Bobs done)Learning and Development OpportunitiesCubic Telecom is an equal opportunities employer and committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
